Hello my friends.
We are having a party. It is a Benefit Fund-raiser for my medical bills after 23 years with CFS/ME/FMS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis).
It is also the kickoff party for Feng’s Non-Profit Group. It will be a service organization for patients with CFS/ME/FMS, their families, and caregivers. It has been a dream of mine for more than a decade. I have also more recently developed Diabetes and Diabetic Neuropathy and now have started going deaf in one ear (poor me, I know), so we will be providing service for people with other health problems as well. It is also an 1129 restaurant reunion and the 30th Anniversary of the R&B Bombers patio parties at the 1129 as well.

When my health improves I will be doing more of the work. We will do this right.
Performing jazz, blues, swing, rock and jump blues will be members of bands from that era in the Santa Barbara downtown music scene. Members of The Bombers, The Pups, The News, Mojo, The Tearaways, Barbara Woods, Leslie Lembo, Raw Silk and as many others as cash and time allow.
The event is being organized by Diana Cuttrell, James Antunez, and Steve Downing (me, Feng).
We are shooting for Sept 5th at Fess Parker’s Doubletree Resort in the Plaza del Sol and Rotunda.

There will be one price for entry, live music, dancing, and appetizers (we may have to skip the food due to cost, I hope not). Cash bar because we have some non drinkers, but most of you suck down cocktails like some kind of Russian vodka disposal company.
We will need volunteers. If you have a skill or trade and would like to contribute that, or cash money, please let us know on the Event page (Facebook link). Volunteering does not mean you will not be asked to pay to attend. It is a fund-raiser, benefit, reunion, anniversary and birthday) … If you don’t know your way around Facebook, get off your ass and learn.
If you leave a post or comment on the Facebook event page, do not assume it has been read by me, or ANYONE, unless they, personally, have clicked “like” on your post or comment. Ideally you will get “likes” from Diana Cuttrell, James Antunez and myself. Then you will know for sure that we’re all on the same page.
Diana has thrown a thousand parties and is an amazing chef, caterer, organizer and the perfect host. She would have been providing food and staff if the Doubletree did not provide their own.
James is my entertainment/musical and benefit director. He runs A to Z Musical Services. He is an amazing musician, singer and a dear friend.

My health, energy, time constraints and typing skills do not allow me to answer the same questions over and over and over. Please Do not message me privately unless you have to.
I have taken the lead on this thing even though it is a bigger chore than I’m up to, and the biggest thing I’ve ever done in my life.
The weekend before or after there might be another get together. Both because this was originally going to be just the reunion and b-day thing and I never intended to make this all about me. It was only James Antunez’s suggestion that we make it a medical bill fund-raiser after telling me about his own health and fund-raising adventure that we decided to do this for me as well. Also I wanted a get together for people who cannot afford to attend a big fund-raiser (and I want to taste Philip (Kennard) Claypool’s BBQ again.)
I know I’m letting loose a lot of personal info, and Facebook don’t keep no secrets, but I am putting my home address back on my “About” page on Facebook. If you know what that means then you know what that means … and you can send me a Hallmark card. I may not write back right away.
Some of this info may change, we are trying to nail down as many details as we can as fast as we can. I am doing as much of the work as I can afford to but I never know when the bottom will drop out and I’ll have to leave it up to others, who I will never be able to properly thank.
I cannot believe how much support there has been for this just in the last few days.
